After reading Mervyn Peake's 'Gormenghast' trilogy in 1990. I knew I had to write a song about it. This one finally came to me a year later, while I was secretly working on a book of my songs - just in time to be given pride of place as the title song in the book. Now, with the release of this CD, it has again grabbed centre stage.
