about

Originally released on cassette only in 1989.

The original masters for this album are on reel-to-reel, and are over 30 years old - as such it is unlikely they will play without a considerable amount of conservation effort and potentially expense.

The MP3s for the Bandcamp release were made available by Rob Wynne from digital copies made by the late Harold Stein, from the US duplication by Wail Songs. The cassette machine from which they were originally digitised was running a few percent fast, the transfer is in mono, and has a couple of audible glitches and some slight distortion and flutter in a few places. I have made efforts to restore the recordings to their original pitch and speed, but obviously these are not perfect, not least because they have been re-encoded from 128kbs MP3s. They are, however, certainly listenable, and currently the only means by which I can make this album available.

I would recommend that you listen to the Bandcamp previews to determine if you wish to part with your money, therefore. in the event that better masters become available, these files will be replaced, and purchasers notified.

My thanks to Rob. to Eli Goldberg for an alternative set of files, and also to Bill Sutton and Marion Beet for cover art scans.

This online-only release respectfully dedicated to the memory of Harold Stein.
